Does anyone know if black walnuts, butternuts, and hickory nuts are
safe to give to my B&G macaw? These nuts drop off the trees this time
of the year up here in VT. I've read some articles in various
publications that list plants, etc. that are safe/toxic, but I don't
recall seeing any of these nuts included in the lists I've seen.
Just wondering...

Mike,
You've stumbled on one of my "hot" topics. I have convinced my
publisher and am currently working on a publication about
parrot-edible fruits and nuts for the Dutch market.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with noth-american trees. Your best
sorce would be an university of agricultice or horticulture. Just call
them.
Success!
Peter
