We have two parrotlets (or pocket parrots). They are interested
birds. Fairly easy to tame -- especially if you have the patience.
The first one we had gotten was hand-tamed. The first month, it
was extremely possessive of its cage -- would bite anything (including
fingers) that would get close to the cage. After a bit, however, it
settled down, and became a real charmer. Its actually my daughter's
bird, and loves to cuddle in a pocket, or crawl back behind her neck.

We bought another one about two months ago, which was not hand-fed,
and it is a little on the wild side. But it will come around
    eventually.

There is a man in Methuen that sells them fairly inexpensive. Sea
World in Salem, NH was selling them for $199. a piece -- which is
rather expensive! If you would like more information on the man in
    Metheun, give me a call.
