Many of you read my notes on the bird rescue I was involved in recently
and again may I say "thank you !!" to all the people who offered
support. Through this I have come to realize a need for my rescue
efforts to be continued. I have long been aware of dog/cat rescue and
have done what I could to help. Now it seems that as birds become more
popular as pets there is a growing problem of unwanted birds. The
reasons are many and varied and most are valid.
Many Humane shelters are not equipped to handle birds
and breeders are understandably reluctant to take in strange birds.
SOOOO................ that leaves me and the newly formed...
Phoenix Avian Rescue
it will be a slow start as I am doing this out of my home.(actually my
dining room table) but for birds in need, like the last group I had it
was the only place they had. If anyone is interested in becoming
involved please contact me. I imagine at some time I may need extra
foster homes and I'm always in need of volunteers to refer people to
for the questions that I can't answer. Comments, suggestions, and
information are always welcome.

I have received much positive support off line in regards to the base
note for which I am very greatful. Phoenix Avian Rescue is located in
Francestown NH (603) 547-6890. If there are birds in need out of the
area please contact me and I may be able to make some arrangements for
shipping or pick up.
