| | Our conures and parrots have the no-droppings-at-night, then mega
droppings first thing in the morning. They all seem healthy. The
birds seem to chew the whole cuttlebone when one is offered, although
we have switched to mineral blocks and Nekton-S and Nekton-MSA lately
to avoid the mess of the cuttlebones. About the apparent non-movement
    - maybe he has a favorite place on the perch? Does he have many
choices of where to sit in the cage? Also, he might still be adjusting
after just a week. He was used to a very large cage in the store
and the company of other birds. His new situation is still very
new, dont' you think? The person who sold the bird to you said
the bird was his favorite, so I'm sure he would advise you on the
bird's care if you want to call him - 897-9599. Best of luck. /Linda

| | We have two cockatiels, one that is two to three years old and one
who is my favorite that is one year old. Neither one of the cockies
like to, or have ever played with any type of toy. All our other
birds enjoy different toys but the cockies just sit there making
monotonous noise. My young Lutino loves to chew paper and will
wrestle with a toothpick most of the time. I don't think
you have a problem bird, I do feel that it is adjusting to its
new home. Give him/her some time and lot of love and he/she will
come around. Try moving the cage to a different area, preferably
some place that is near the center of human activity. That is if
the cage isn't there already. At any rate good luck with your
new family member. Let us know what you name him/her.

| | Well you all are right. He (JayO) is coming around. He still will
just sit on the food perch until I get home, and then He wants out
immediately. The only toy He plays with are my ears, thankfully
he is gently with them. I have the feeling that I am the pet and
he is in charge, or soon will be.
