| | You could probably look in the back of Bird Talk in the for sale
section and call the large bird breeders. I saw a couple of Caiques
in a bird store out in Calif. (I can't remember the name, but I
did get their name out of Bird Talk) and they are beautiful birds.
Another place you could try is Von's Exotic Birds (I think that
they are located in Revere - anyhow they used to be listed in the
back of Bird Talk under Mass.) They could locate one for you.
I called them once for a lutino ringneck. Most out of state
breeders would be willing to fly the bird to you.

    Best of luck!

| | Have you seen a White-Bellied Caique? They are gorgeous also and
just as sweet and affectionate as you mentioned!

| | We saw a caique just like the one at the show at Jungle Jim's in
Holden, only it acted very aggressive -- attached the side of the
cage when we went near. Beautiful, though. Yee Exotics (I believe
formerly Von Exotics, based on the shipping label on a cage we bought
from them), is in Brookline, just off Route 9. They had the bird
you are looking for....about $500 or so, if memory serves. /Linda

| | I have had a white bellied Caique for about two years now. They really
are clowns. You will find they spend most of thier time up side down
with a each foot grasping a different toy. They are a little niosy,
maybe more so than my Macaws, but they are the most playfull birds I
have seen. They are hard to come by, I paid $600 off the nest for mine
and had to pull in on a few favors to jump the waiting list.

    Good luck.
