Well, it's been a long time since I've had a sick birdy, and
unfortuneately I do not remember what the signs to look for are,
but I think I may have a sick birdy now.
This morning I noticed that there were a coupel fresh droppings
in the cage that were of the thin yellow variety. Gretel also seemed
to have her feathers fluffed out a bit. Not real sure about the
fluffing of the feathers - Gretel always gets like that when I start
throwing my hands in *her* cage.
Only other thing I noticed different was that when I brought inthe
fresh food, Gretel didn't run right over to the food dish. Which
also isn't that unusual - she's the type that has a little more
dignity than that. She just kind of slowly saunters over and peeks
in the dish. But she really didn't seem to have any itnerest in
the food at al this morning.
Any advice?

yes I would call this a sick bird. did you feed her anything that
would make her droppings yellow? lots of heat. would help. small
bird I would feed acidalphus power on any food that she would eat
and see if she improves in a day or two. big bird the same but
you might consider the vet. I have found in the past that the trip
and the handeling is more detremintal than the problem.

What would I have fed that would have made her droppings yellow?
Very strange - last night when I got home, both birds had totally
demolished all of their veggies in their dish. So, I filled their
dish with seed, and both birds chowed down for what seemed like
hours.
Since I was away Fri-Mon, I'm wondering if the sitter maybe altered
their feeding schedule. It didn't look like the sitter fed that
much seed while I was away, but I know she fed a ton of veggies.
Been trying to keep Gretel warm. Droppings look a little better
today. Will be picking up some medication at the pet shop today.
Gretel was hungry for breakfast.
