    Hi,

I am a new person working on VMS. Now, there one customer neding to
connect a printer to DEC2000 with OVMS V6.2 using directly cable. If
anyone can give me a full introduction to setup it ?

And once more question, if I can print out to the above printer from
an other node ( ei. DEC2000 with OVMS v6.2) over network ?

    Your replies are much appreciated.

    Thank in advance,

    Son.

| OpenVMS supports printing via the serial port but not the parallel port. What printer are you trying to connect? Paul | |||||

| The DEClaser 3200 has a serial port. You can connect it to an OpenVMS system directly or to a terminal server. If it is indeed a 3200, use the LAT symbiont to create a queue. If it is a 3250 (PostScript), use DECprint Supervisor (DCPS). Please refer to OpenVMS and/or DCPS documentation for instructions. Using a terminal server will allow LAT connections from other systems. Adding a device such as a RapidPrint 500 will allow LAT, TCP/IP, NetWare and AppleTalk connections. Paul | |||||
