Of the names you've suggested, I like William and Samuel the
best. I don't care for the rhyme of Curtis Makrianis and
Colin is somewhat of an ethnic mismatch with Makrianis (Irish
Gaelic with Greek) - you and your husband's preferences are
definitely more important than mine however 8^)!! A couple of
other names that fit your criteria of strong and not trendy
that spring to mind are Craig and Greg (or Gregory).

    Craig William or Greg William
    Gregory George or Gregory John

    Good luck!

    Carol,
Thanks for the input. I had to laugh about your comment on Colin.
I am Irish (half anyways) and I told my husband that if we had a
boy that looked the least bit Irish he would be called Colin. You
see, my daughter, Anna Sophia Makrianis, is as ethnic looking as
she sounds. The spitting image of my husband. I like both Craig and
Greg. Will have to see what the husband says.

| 925.3 | you're right...if he's fair, Colin might be a great choice! | CNTROL::STOLICNY |  | Mon Jan 24 1994 16:15 | 5 |

Oops, I guess in your case, Colin might be a perfect choice!!
Then again, Patrick (after his mother) might be nice, too!

| 925.4 | Gotta love Colin... | AMCUCS::MEHRING |  | Mon Jan 24 1994 16:54 | 25 |
| | Patty,
Well, I love the name Colin (obviously, as the mother of Collin Richard - and
he is blonde/blue-eyed so it fits him to a "T"!) and I think it actually
sounds pretty good with George and Makrianis. Here are a few other ideas for
you to toss around:
	Wesley George Makrianis
	Derek George Makrianis
	Paul George Makrianis
	Edward George Makrianis
Dillon George Makrianis (possibly on the trendy side, but I like it)
	Andrew/Drew Colin Makrianis
	Kent William Makrianis
Chad Michael Makrianis (this was my 1st choice for our 2nd, but had a
				girl...)
I also like the Greg suggestion, although Gregory would make for quite a few
syllables in total... I kind of like the one or two-syllable first names with
your last name, but the single-syllable names sound better with a 2-syllable
middle name.
Good luck - getting close for you!

Well, I went through a smallish baby name book and made up a new list.
I didn't have one name from the list I particularly liked over another,
I was just hoping to get my husband to help narrow it down. Well, I
haven't shown him the list yet, but as I went over it late yesterday
afternoon with my sister, she picked up on one of the names and now I
    love it!!!

    			Kyle William Makrianis

Now to approach my husband and hope he doesn't veto it. I really like
it. It sounds sounds/flows nicely, it's not super common (please don't
tell me you know 50 million little boys named Kyle), it's short ( a
definite consideration with the last name. So what do you all think???

BTW, my last day is tomorrow.

| | Kyle has become a popular name in Scotland recently, and I must agree
    William goes well with it.
