My husband and I are expecting our first baby in October.
We like to know what names go well with our last name - Yang.
We only need suggestions for the first name because the
middle name will be a Chinese name picked by the grandparents.
Here is what we have so far:
Boy - Grant
Gregory
Marc
Justin
Girl - Josephine
Audrey
We both like the boy name Grant a lot, but people have told us
that the two names sound similar therefore do not go together
well. What do you think?
Thanks a Lot!

Hi Pao-Lin,
From your list, my favorites are Justin and Audrey. I also like
Grant but it is too short for your last name (in my opinion).
My last name is Chang (actually very close to Yang), and I found
that multisyllable first names sounded best. My children are:
Jonathan Andrew and Emily Amanda. In addition to the two I
picked from your list, any of these four would also sound good.
Best of luck to you.

Pao-Lin,
I must agree with Chris, the first names should be at least
2-syllables. I like Audrey. I think it is beautiful. Justin
is ok. I like Marc though.
For girls,
Hillary
Jasmine or Jessamine
Kristine
Leslie
Lisa
Erica
For boys,
Derek
Thomas
Steven
Kevin
Johnathan
These are just a few of them. Good luck.
BTW, my kids are Eric Channing and Monica Grace. The last name
is SWEI.

From Wendy's note, I also think Monica Yang and Lisa Yang would
sound very good.
For more boys names, Jason Yang also sounds good to me.
