| | Hi David,

I think Alicia Diane Jacobs sounds very good for a girl. Another
name that is similar: Marissa Diane.

When I looked at the list of possible first names and second
names, I tried pairing them together into combinations that I
thought sound good and came up with the following:

    Quentin Louis Jacobs
    Quentin Charles Jacobs
    Brendon Charles Jacobs
    Devin Louis Jacobs
    Devin Charles Jacobs

Of the above, my pick would be the Quentin combos, but I can't decide
which I like the best. The others sound good together, too. But I
    really like Quentin.

    Congratulations and good luck,

    Chris

| | Hi Dave! I really love your girl's name, and I can
relate to how tough boys names are...Of the contenders
you listed, I really like Devin Charles Jacobs.
Here are a few more ideas for you and Jenn (sorry if
any of them are used by your brothers/nephews...):
	Dean	Louis	Jacobs
	Matthew Charles	Jacobs
	Daniel	Leon	Jacobs
	Keenan	Charles	Jacobs
	Kent	Louis	Jacobs
	Tanner	Charles	Jacobs
	Reed	Kenneth Jacobs
	Jeffrey Leon	Jacobs
You're lucky that a lot of names sound good with your
last name... but that makes the choice harder! Do you
like/hate any of these?
Best of luck narrowing the field...

Hey Cor,
I knew it was just a matter of time before I saw something here from you.
I like just about all the names you suggested. The only one taken (by a
cousin) is Dean. I especially like Kennan and Tanner. I'll bring this
list home and see how many make it on to our "master list".
Thanks for the ideas,
-David

I second Keenan for a boy! I think it sounds nice with Charles
for a middle name and gives you the option of calling him
K.C. as a nickname. Of the other names you listed, I like
    the pairs:

    Kyle Louis Jacobs
    Brendan Charles Jacobs
    Devin Charles Jacobs
    Quentin Charles Jacobs

Leon and Kenneth don't really seem to go to well with any of the
    names you've selected.

One other name that is not too ordinary, not too bizarre is
Con(n)or. I like Connor David Jacobs.

    Alicia Diane is FANTASTIC!

    Good luck,
    Carol

| 771.6 | Some more not-so-typical boys' names... | AMCUCS::MEHRING |  | Thu Apr 02 1992 13:43 | 29 |
| | Well, I thought of a few more cool boys' names that sound
decent with Jacobs:
	Garrett
	Max/Maxwell
	Grant
	Jason
	Luke
	Gordon
	Andrew/Drew
	Reese
	Harrison
	Nathan
	Nelson
	Conrad
Although I like the names Kyle and Connor, I think
they are getting a bit more common these days...
I do still like Devin, Keenan, and Tanner, too -- that
master list is sure to grow and shrink a lot in the
next 3 months! But it's a big decision so one worth
planning for in advance...
Out of curiosity, does "mother's intuition" think it's
a boy or a girl? How about in her dreams?
Later,
-Cori
(p.s. Hi to Jen! Hang in there & get lots of sleep!!!)

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their reassurance
of Alicia Diane.
I brought the last list home. Tanner, Kent and Reed made it on to
the "master list". I'll keep bringing these lists home and see how
we do. Personally I like Garrett, Reese and Harrison the best of
this new list.
As far as "what does Mother think it will be". She has had only a
couple dreams. In one of them the baby is "baby", thats it, not a
boy, not a girl, just "baby". In the other one (which was just the
other night) it was a girl. Mothers intuition is saying "boy", mostly
because that is the one we are having a hard time picling the name
for.
Thanks again,
-David

| | Thought I'd enter this for Dave (since he'll be home for a week or two).
Looks like they'll have to save "Alicia Diane" for another time...
Devin Louis Jacobs was born on July 15 at 3:47 p.m. He weighs 6 lbs.
13 1/2 oz. and is 20 inches long.
Great name! Congratulations (again)! Now the fun begins...
