| | One approach to naming twins is to first decide on a type of name
you like - biblical, traditional, trendy, etc. Then decide if
you want similar, complimentary or totally individual and unique
names - for same sex and both sex twins. For example, Susan and
Louis (Sue and Lou), Patricia and Iain, Rosalie and Rachel,
Michael and Mark, Chad and Tate, Chelsea and Kelsey, Catherine
and Elizabeth, etc. (These are just examples and might not sound
good with your last name). Then you can rule in or rule out family
and friends names and decide if you want middle names. If you want
middle names, will you use mother's maiden name. Having accomplished
all that, it will be easier to narrow down the list of potentials and
that's where the real fun starts.

With a last name of Mann, I'd prefer a multi-sylable first name. I
also like complimentary but not necessarily rhyming names:

    Sarah Elizabeth Emily Suzanne
    Ellen Marie Marjorie Elaine

    Everett Paul Phillip Evan
    Gregory Matthew Michael Andrew

Congratulations and best of luck. If you can pick a type, etc. as
above, we can gear our suggestions closer to what you decide on.

Why don't you call them the same name? That way when you get mad you
just have to yell ONE name and save your breath!
Sorry ..... just a joke
Just another suggestion...humourous :-)
if they are different sex twins how about:
Bonnie and Clyde
Julius and Cleo
Elvis and Prescilla
or maternal:
Wilbur and Orville
Bill and Ben (That's an obscure one :-)
Huey and Duey or Duey and Louis or Huey and Louis
Can't think of any famous female duos
You gotta Laugh!

Thanks for the suggestions, you've convinced us that complimentary names
    are not a good idea.

Preferences are individual, traditional but slightly unusual and multi-
    syllable.

| | TWO WHITE PONIES

There once were two white ponies
    And they would often hear
About how much they looked alike
    From others far and near

They thought that this was silly
    And they would often say
"How can you say we are alike?
We're just like night and day!"

For even though they seemed the same
They did not feel that way
For one had longer ears and tail
And loved to dance and play

    The other one was quieter
    And she was taller, too
Her eyes were larger than her twin's
    And they're a deeper blue

One day they said, "Why should we care
    What other people feel?
We know, though they think we're alike
    Our differences are real!"

They carried on this simple thought
    And soon others would see
    Even though they seemed alike
    How different they could be

And now the two white ponies
    Are happy for each other
They know that its OK to be
    One different from another

(This was inspired by a set of twins that I know...lovely, blonde,
blue eyed girls. This was also written with my older twin brothers
in mind, and to any set of twins who are just a little tired of
being thought of as a carbon copy. For the record...some young twins
I know actually use this poem to explain to their friends how they
    feel!)

I personally don't go for cutesy twins' names. My approach would
be to select names that I liked and that went with the last name
as a first priority. As a second priority, I would select names
that complemented one another from my list of preferred names.

So....for names that go well, IMHO, with Mann and fit your criteria
of traditional but slightly unusual, how about?:

    Rebecca Mann
    Abigail Mann
    Rachel Mann
    Victoria Mann
    Alexander Mann
    Andrew Mann
    Christopher Mann

I think any and all of those names work well as "pairs" for twins.
