    My son's babysitter is from Scotland. Her son's names are Alexander
    and Stewart. I really like Alex/ander and it might make a good
    combination with Shane: Shane Alexander Taylor or Alexander Shane Taylor

    I have worked with some folks from the Digital plant in Scotland
    but none had particularly unique names (Keith, Dougie, Jimmy, Steve).
    One name that was a bit different was Duncan.

    Good luck,
    Carol

| 689.3 | Ian - my favorite boys name | EXIT26::MACDONALD_K | no unique hand plugs the dam | Fri May 24 1991 15:18 | 9 |
| | My favorite Scottish name (actually it's my favorite any-kind-of-name)
    is Ian - the Scottish form of John. My husband is Scottish too, and
    I just about had him convinced to go with Ian (he was a hard one to
    persuade!) about 20 minutes before I delivered a beautiful little
    girl, so we used Allyson instead. I wanted a girl, though!!!
    Good luck and congratulations...

    - Kathryn

| 689.6 | Scottland is another nice suggestion for a boy! | OBSESS::PHELAN |  | Mon Jun 10 1991 15:43 | 19 |
| | My Grandfather was born in Glosgow Scottland. His name was
    William Burns Gailey. (Burns was after the Scottish poet Robert Burns)
    ((very Scottish)). Burns is a nice middle name to consider. Andrew
    was my his brothers name.

    How about Scott Burns Taylor or Scott Ian Taylor for a boy!

    My grandfather called his one of his daughters Scotti as a nick name.

    Friends of mine are from Scottland - though their names are not that
    unusual. Margaret and John. Her maiden name was Proudfoot though and
    she became a "Gentleman" once she married John Gentleman.
    (Pretty different huh)! Their children are: Scott, Carolyn and David
    and Carolyn has a boy named Graham...

    Well, if I think of any more I will send them along.

    Christina

| | I have a Scottish friend whose name is Gareth. We call him Gary so as
    not to be too formal.
