    I put a note in awhile ago requesting the history of the name Samantha.
    Unfortunately noone replied (It was an "old" note).
    
    Does anyone know what the name means? I know it's probably a derivative
    of Samuel, but I'd like to know more.

	My (somewhat abridged) name book lists Samantha as having Arabic roots and meaning "Listener". -Cori
