|  |     Hi Kathy!

    Congratulations on the soon-to-be new addition to your family!
    That is very exciting!

    I really like several of the names you are considering.

    Here are a few suggestions that I am partial to:

    Boys				Girls
    ----                                -----
    Gregory James			Maura Alyse
    Spencer James			Cailin Nichelle
    Jordan James			Mallory Alicia
    Devon James				Alexa Rachelle

    Just a few to consider...

    I think Laurel Johnson sounds real nice. Same idea as Lauren
    except with a twist (and not near as popular!).

    Whaddaya think?

| | I like your choice of Cameron James although it may get shortened to
    Cam. For your girls name I like Alicia the best because the others end
    in the en sound. Maybe a name that ends in the e sound would go good
    with Johnson.

    Haley
    Chloe
    Hilary
    Phoebe

    Good luck and congratulations.

| | Thanks for the replies! I took them home to my husband. He's still
    big on Cameron James...but I agree that he'll be called Cam or Cammy,
    and I don't like either of those. He also really liked the suggestion
    of Laurel, and Alicia Kate. I'm glad I'm not the only one who
    thinks two -en or -on sounds together (like Lauren Johnson) are
    a bit much.

    Any other ideas? (Thanks so far!)

| 617.6 | how about CJ for a nickname? | CNTROL::STOLICNY |  | Tue Dec 18 1990 12:14 | 10 |
| | Another nickname (which I happen to like very much (-8 ) for
    Cameron James would be CJ. I have a business associate (male)
    with this nickname. I also happen to like the nickname Cam
    (reminds me of Cam Neely).

    I have always been partial to Rae for a girl's middle name and think
    it sounds great with Alicia. My choices for middle names for
    Laurel would be Beth or Elizabeth.

| 617.7 | Christoper James Johnson! | MAMTS5::DHOWARD | He who laughs, lasts! | Tue Dec 18 1990 15:14 | 12 |
| | How about Christopher James Johnson? (I think that sounds wonderful,
    and if you'd like you could call him CJ as a nickname!).

    Other ideas:

    Bennet James Johnson
    Lawrence James Johnson
    Clark James Johnson

    (I've got a million of them!)...

| 617.8 | other nicknames for Cameron | SELECT::GIUNTA |  | Wed Dec 19 1990 08:57 | 5 |
| | I went to school with a Cameron, and no one ever shortened his name. He was
always called Cameron (and that's from grade school to today). His father was
also a Cameron, but his nicknames were Ron and Ronnie, so you don't have to
have Cam as a nickname. I think if you choose what you want the nickname to be,
and then start using it, other folks will follow suit.

| 617.10 | decided | RTL::JOHNSON |  | Wed Jan 09 1991 14:13 | 16 |
| | Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We finally decided on:

        Alicia Ann Johnson (Ann is my mother-in-law's name)

        Daniel James Johnson (James is my father's name)

    Thanks to K.C., who suggested Alicia Kate -- for some reason I was
    stuck on two or three syllable middle names, so I never even thought
    of using Ann! My husband decided he likes Daniel better than
    Cameron, which makes me very glad because I do too. So much for
    uncommon names though -- I think Daniel is in the top ten in 1989.
    Alicia isn't all that common however.

    It feels so good to be DECIDED! Only 3 1/2 weeks to go...
