We're expecting Baby Steinhart in October. Looking for some ideas. So
far, we're pretty well set on Isaac John Steinhart or Ilona Jane
Steinhart. But other suggestions are welcome!
We don't want to use the Celtic names so popular now, and are looking
for an adult-sounding name the child can grow into. Also, we don't
want any unusual spellings (eg Chrystal) nor very popular names like
Melissa or Jason.
One thought - we'd like alternatives for a boy's name that start with M
(after my grandmother). But so far none thrill us, including Michael.
Any ideas? Girl's names with an M would be welcome, especially a
middle name for Ilona.
Thanks.

"M" Boy's names....Miles/Myles is one of my all-time favorites
(tho I'm not sure about Miles Steinhart because of the s's).
There's also Mitch(ell) and Micah, if you don't want something
popular.
"M" Girl's names...Marina, Marielle, Mia come to mind.
I personally don't care for either Isaac or Ilona but they do fit your
criteria of "an adult-sounding name that the child can grow into".
Of course, my son is named Jason so we clearly have different tastes!

The first "M" boy's name I thought of was Mitchell. I also like
Matthew.
For a middle name for Ilona, Michele and Marie would sound good.

For me, the first male "M" names that came to mind were Mitchell (a
good friend of mine) and Maury (short for Maurice, another friend). As
those have already been mentioned, some of the others were:
Mark
Marcus
Michael
Melvin
And for girls:
Melanie
Marie
Meghan
Marilyn
Michelle
Michelene
Good luck!
