| | Lisa,

I like the last name Arcabascio. I mean it's not a common name and
that's what I like about it. I think there are a lot of names going
    with Arcabascio.

So what about Julian for a boy? Julian Arcabascio sounds nice.
And I like Cynthia Arcabascio for a girl.

But it's hard to give any suggestions, because I don't really know
what kind of names you like.
I like french names a lot (wouldn't be so bad with your last name).

If you tell me the kind of names you like I can give you a lot more
    names.

    So far my suggestions.

Good luck to you findig a name.

    Jeannette

| | Thanks Jeannette!

    I like: (I think)

    Lauren
    Justine
    Anna
    Rebecca

I love how Hannah has become popular again, (my grandmothers name) but
my husband Joe will have no parts of that!

I have four sisters with very feminine names that I love, but I dont
want to repeat...Donna, Leslie, Christa, Susan...

For a boy most names seem so over-used. We both like Alex Joseph and
    Ethan Joseph.

| | I like Alex. Either just like that OR short for Alexander! (And
Joseph was my well-loved Grandfather's name. *sigh*)

| | I like Rebecca, too.

What about Mirjam or Eliane? My sister's name is Mirjam and I like
it a lot. (I've heard a funny name and the longer the more I like
    it: Riccarda)

Ethan sounds strange to me, I've never heard this name before.
But Ethan Joseph sounds not bad pron. in english (in Switzerland we
give Joseph the nickname "Sepp" and I hate this name!)

I better like Alex Joseph (but Alex reminds me of Michael J. Fox
    in "Family Ties")

And what do think about Lukas, Markus (or just Mark), Eric or Martin?
    There are soooo many names!

| 502.6 | I can relate!!! | PGG::MAZZUCOTELLI |  | Thu Mar 01 1990 12:57 | 31 |
| | I know what you mean about a tough last name!!! Boy can I relate!

I too am due in July, but have not really given it real serious thought
yet. My husband would like to continue a tradition that I don't
particularly care for if we have a boy, that would be to name it after
himself, his father, and grandfather (deceased) - no Jr or II. I like
my husband's name (Francis John) but I think the baby should have an
identity and name of its own. We'll definately have to discuss this
one. I told him it would give us more time if its a girl!

As far as girls names, I'm leaning toward the simpler probably shorter
type names just so it won't be a mouthful to learn! And, if the person
addressing the child can't pronounce the last name, at least
(hopefully) the first is easy. I know about that since I am Japanese
and the only name people could pronounce was my first name! I think
that's what my parents had in mind when they named my older sister and
I, we both have Japanese middle names.

Both my sisters married into simpler family names. When my older
sister had her first they could pick just about any name. What they
settled on was George Brent. George since both grandfathers are George,
and Brent, the name they use, was their choice.

I just can't relate to the person who wrote in "What goes with
    SMITH"!

    Good Luck!

    Jane

| | Yes, I agree on baby's having a name/identity of their own, but it's a
    matter of preference.

    Good luck!

| | Jane,
My husband wants to name our son (if it's a boy) after himself
and his father, too. Check out note 494 for some more discussion
        on this.
What do you call your husband and what would you call your son
if you did give him Francis John? Fran 4 :-?
My mother was big on simple names since hers is Maryliz and
everyone gets it mixed up. She called us Lynn and Amy. (We've
never had any problems with those.)

Amy
