I think the name should be one syllable (because Alexander has so many)
and end in a constanent (sp?) (becuase Alexander starts with a vowel)

| I don't think the name should necessarily be 1 syllable. It just shouldn't
end in an "a".
How about Jacquelyn Alexander? I think it sounds elegant.

P.S. My son's daycare teacher is named Amy Alexander and I think that sounds
rather nice (altho I've never been real fond of the name Amy)

| Well Kristi is 2 centimeters dialated but we still are not sure on the
final name. All of the sugestions have helped and I guess we will wait
to see the baby and go from there. What about Katherine xxx Alexander and
calling her something like Katy or one of those type of nicknames?
Any ideas on this? By the way our son is 2.5 years old and his name is
Michael James Alexander and we call him Michael not Mike. We had an
early ultrasound and we have a 70% chance of a girl. Its funny that a
lot of the names sugested were my family's names. Here are some of my
relitives names:

You were right on the nose here, my father's name is
Alexander Alexander or Alex for short. He says it was horrible growing
up with that name in school. So you folks get an A+ from me, thanks for

Be prepared for there to be about 10 other "Katie's" in her class!
This is a VERY common name right now. I have a niece named Katherine
(Katie), and in her class there are 4 others!
Katie, Jenny and Jessy (Katherine, Jennifer and Jessica) are overly
picked.

| I second what K.C. said about Katie... Very common now. I go
by just plain Kathryn - no nicknames - and I like my name very
much, but it wasn't so common (especially the spelling) when
I was growing up. But now, boyoboyoboy... I know several little
girls with my name and all spelled the same way.

P.S. Did someone mention Elizabeth? I think that sounds pretty
good with Alexander. There's so many variations, too. Liz, Beth,
Betsey, Lizzy (I love for a little girl) etc. etc.

| I still feel that a SHORT first name should go with a LONG last name.
Otherwise, the kid will have severe writer's cramp by the time she's 7!

Natasha Lee Corrine Coutermarsh!

| Well I back, and we had a girl. Elizabeth Anne Alexander.
She was 8lb 9 3/4oz and 20 1/2in long. We were still weren't sure
untill she was born and then we started naming names wile looking at
her and she did not look like any name we picked out. Then we said
Elizabeth and we both agreed that was it. We are using the full name
for now. One funny note was that this name had no family history and
nobody had suggested it, but after I told my mom what it was she
said that was the christian name she was baptized with but had
forgot it (her name is Nancy Jane). So thanks for all of the input.
