| | How about Meredith Anne? That would incorporate your mother-in-law's
name and it sounds very pretty.

Thanks for the quick replys. Meridith Anne and Sarah Mae both
have a nice sound. Anna is really a tough middle name to match
a first name to. I'll run your suggestions by the "boss" when
I get home tonite! I also considered using Bolen, but didn't
quite like the sound of it. Also it sounds too much like bowling
and could lead to teasing by other children.

While we have always liked the names Sarah and Meridith, I would
consider another first name if it went well with Anna.

    Thanks again.

           Jim F.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

My wife and I have come up with a new list thanks to your
help. My wife liked the idea of using a part of her mom's
name as a middle name for a girl. Thanks for your help
    on middle names!

By the way, while my wife thought Leigh Anna was pretty, she
said she just couldn't name her child Leigh. The reason is
she had an aunt Leigh that the entire family didn't like.

However, you will note that we adopted a couple of your suggestions.
    Thanks for the ideas!

We are happy we have 5 good names we like and can go with. We will
think about these for a while longer before we make a final decision.
Marsha's due date is Nov 9th.

Our current ranking as of today:

             GIRLS BOYS
             ----- ----

      1. Meredith Anne Forrest 1. Robert Winston Forrest

2a. Sarah Mae Forrest 2. Ian Spencer

     2b. Judith Meghan Forrest

I came up with 2b by matching various names we both liked.
We used the list method to come up with this one.

You will note that we have listed 5 "finalists".
We decided to come up with at least TWO names for a boy and
girl. We found this very helpful to us in picking middle names.

For example we like Spencer or Winston as possible middle
names for a boy (among others) We also like Robert and Ian as
first names (among others). Since we don't like the sound of
Ian Winston Forrest, we used this process to match Robert with Winston
and Ian with Spencer. We also used this to move Ian up on our list
and to eliminate Steven. Perhaps this method will help some of you!

    Any other suggestions or comments?

           Thanks again,

             Jim F.

| | That is a good way to do it.

My husband and I knew that we liked Deborah and Celina as first
names, and Leigh and Emily for middle names, and Deborah Emily sounds
OK, I just can't bring myself to name a child Celina Leigh. Sounds
like a stutter. So our choices are Deborah Leigh and Celina Emily.

(Actually, that is our choice if we have twin girls. If we have
just one girl she will be Deborah Celina. But this is all in the
    future.)

Dateline: November 8, 1989 11:03 PM EDT
NASHUA -- As expected, the Forrests today unveiled the first
addition to their long-awaited new product family. The first laptop,
code-named Meredith Anne, weighs 6 pounds 8 ounces, which is somewhat smaller
than most analysts expected. In addition, Meredith Anne is quite compact and
has a relatively small footprint of only 20 inches.
The Forrests announced that this quarter only the basic version will be
available. However, planned upgrades, such as optical scanning, voice
recognition, audible display, and color printing are anticipated to be phased
in within the next 18 months. Due to its high I/O speed, most analysts
recommend at least 100 giga-bytes of Huggie storage to insure optimal
performance.
No Cost of ownership information was provided by the Forrests. However,
analysts estimate that the cost of ownership for the first eighteen years
should be somewhere in the vicinity of $150,000 dollars.
Spokepersons Marsha and Jim Forrest indicated that Meredith Anne is currently
completing beta-tests at Nashua Memorial Hospital and should be available for
demonstrations within the next two to three weeks.

| | Jim,

Congratulations to you and Marsha!! Your little update January 2, 1990
was just GREAT!! You should print that out and frame it for Meridith
to read when she is older!! She will be thrilled!!

I didn't get into your file until 01/10/90 and was happy to read the
    update.

For your "future" daughter, you may want to consider the name:

                      JEANA MAE or ANNA JEAN!

    Jeana Mae is especially nice!!!

Congrats again to you and your "whole" family!!

your wife's name as well as her mom's whole first name (well, just
    about).

                    JEANNA MAE would include EVERYONE!!

See the JEAN the ANNA and the MAE!!!

Pretty neat I think!! It could be pronouced either GINA or JE-ANNA

| | Hmmm... interesting...

My wife likes the name Jean. She suggested Jean at one point last
Summer. I thought Jean was too plain. Your suggestions are
interesting. Jeanna Mae does sound good. I'm sure my wife
will laugh when she hears you're already planning for the next one.

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll keep in mind for the next one.

Marsha already indicated she wanted me to make a laser copy of the
birth announcement so she could frame and hang in Meredith's room. You
    think alike.

        Regards,
