I like Phillip... George Phillip Drane.
    or Allen... George Allen Drane.
or Mitchel... George Mitchel Drane (I like the nickname Mitch)

Anyway, I think it should be sort of long because Drane is so short.
It should have two syllables at least.

    What do you think?

| | Re "Brittany" - did you know that's a breed of dog? My brother-in-law
has one. They used to be called Brittany Spaniel, but are now just
Brittany. That's all I can think of when I hear that name! (I think
it's kind of pretty but I wouldn't name my child that for that reason.)

| 422.3 | Brittany Leigh? | WAV12::AROIAN |  | Wed Aug 09 1989 12:49 | 12 |
| | I don't care for the sound of "Brittany Oriana" together. I think
something simpler as a middle name sound nice.

Is she pronouncing Brittany with 2 (BRITT-ney) syllables or 3
    (BRIT-te-ney) syllables??

    How about:

    Brittany Leigh Drane?

    L.

    Re .1

I like your suggestions. I really like George Mitchel--I like
the nickname Mitch too, and I think it sounds classy.

    Re .2

I think she already knows that Brittany is a breed of dog, and
she still hasn't changed her mind. Oh well!

    Re .3

She pronounces it in 3 syllables (Brit-ten-eey). By the way,
I don't care for Oriana at all.

I agree. Brittany and Oriana together is a little too much.
Maybe a one-syllable middle name would be a lot nicer like
-1 (Laurel?) suggested. Leigh is nice... so is Ann or other
    simple names like that.

P.S. I also agree with a few replies back that George's middle
name should be longer than one syllable. I can't really
say I'm too fond of the name George for a little boy - it's
always sounded so much "older" to me and I've put it into
same category as Henry, Malcolm, and a few others. I just
can't picture a cute, little baby named George, but then I
guess he won't be a baby forever, right?

My husband thought George Michael would be nice, for the following
    reasons ONLY:

    	George--My father's name
Micheal--His cousin (best man, most likely Godfather)

I don't like it for teasing purposes tho, and wouldn't subject my
child to it. I do like it for the above, however.

I like Brittany, but really dislike it with Oriana. It's too much. Also,
I don't think it's too cute to give a girl the initials BOD. Sheesh!
I like the Mitchell suggestion to go with George. 'Mitch' sounds strong.
Just my $.02 worth.
