name of Farrer.
For a middle name to go with Nicole, I like Caitlin:

| I don't know about Nicole and Caitlin together. Nicole sounds so
French, Caitlin so Gaelic.

I'm in the same situation as far as no definite name and less than 4
weeks. Good luck in your decision.
As far as input, I really like Adam Christopher. But use Adam unless
you want a very common name for the baby. A friend of mine taught
Bible classes last week for 4 year olds and there were 3 little boys
with the name Chris and 1 little boy named Christopher. (Not to
mention the little girl whose name was Crystal.) The class had about 10
children.
I like Nicole Marie. I also like Nicole Bridget (used by another DECie
here in North Carolina). Nicole Claire is a favorite of mine but I
don't know about the sound of Nicole Claire Farrer.

| By the way, whoever said these names were "yuppie" probably meant
they were trendy and the people who use them are all those (or us?)
upwardly mobile professional couples. They're probably right.
But Adam can't be _too_ trendy. I mean, obviously it's been around
for a long time, right?

| It just occurred to me that my cousin's son (and my godson) is named
Adam Ryan (Barry). My other godson (a nephew) is named Christopher
(Daniel Bryant).
I guess any of your boy's choices would be popular in my family!

| All the names sound pretty good. I wouldn't worry about them
being too yup (compare Lindsey, Taylor, Paige, etc.). You might
want to check out 352 and 353, though, if you're worried about
popularity.

Thanx for all the suggestions, you even gave me names I hadn't
thought of before. I am going to print all these out and show them
to my husband tonite. Hopefully we will agree on something.

| I think if you are between male names (Adam vs. Ryan) and you like
the name Nicole so much...why not name your child, if it is a boy,
Nicolas. I think Nicolas Adam is quite nice.

| It's been a while since this note was written (I haven't been into
the conference for awhile either...)
But I thought that I would make a comment on the 'yuppie' comment.
Popular names today don't necessarily equate to being 'yuppie'.
Personally, I'd rather use a somewhat popular name than something
real unusual that's going to constantly be misspelled or mispronounced.
Recently I was in a bookstore looking at baby books for a pregnant
friend of mine and I came across a babyname book called 'Beyond
Jennifer and Jason.' I looked thru it for about 5 minutes and found
it interesting. It pointed out the differences between 'trendy'
and 'popular but classic'. It had the usual list of x number of
most popular names, by sex, within the last few years The interesting
thing that I remember is that it then took this list and extracted
the 'classic' names stating that although these names are popular
they aren't trendy.
Ones I can remember for boys were Matthew, Christopher, Michael,
Daniel.... For girls, I only remember Sara.
