I am looking for the meaning of Shawna? Does anyone know what this
name stands for? I am also looking for some feedback as to what
your opinion is of the name "Shawna Marie Smith". I am having a baby
in July and have been fighting to find a girls name that I like.
Please tell me what you think?

    Karen

| I like and do not like the Shawna, people inavertadely shorten
names and "Shawn" as a nickname for a girl, I personally don't
care for. However, the entire name together sounds great. What
did you pick for a boys' name?

| Shawna and Shawn are the feminine form of Sean, which is the Irish form of John. (according to my book of names). BTW, John is Hebrew meaning "God is gracious". I think Shawna Marie Smith sounds pretty together. Shawna isn't a name I hear very often, unlike Smith, so they compliment each other. - ori | |||||

| If we have a boy, we've decided to name it after both fathers, so
we've decided on Dana Michael Smith.
    What do you think?

| Both Grandfathers, my father is Michael and my husbands father's
name is Dana. There are 2 Michael's im my family, so we've
decided to have the first name Dana and use Michael as the middle
    name.
