                             -KIERSTIN-

What does everyone think of the name Kierstin for a girl, my younger
sister goes to school with a girl who's name is Kierstin. That
was the first time I ever heard of it and I fell in love with it.
It's pronounced Karestin. I am new to the notes file and would
    love to here some opinions.
                                              -Kim-

It's a pretty name but she'll be spelling and pronouncing it for
everyone for the rest of her life. Why not spell it the way it's
pronounced for starters?

Is it pronounced like the "ar" in car or care?
I've seen it pronounced the way you spelled it too, Kir-stin.

It is pronounced like "care"stin, also I think spelling it like
it sounds is a good idea, I saw it spelled the way I have it spelled
    Never thought of different spellings.

                                                 Thanks

| | Just a thought about spellings

    Kierstin says K-ee-rstin
    Keirstin says K-ay-rstin like n-ei-ghbour and w-ei-gh
    Kirstin says K-e-rstin
I often see spellings like these in names and wish that the namer
had followed conventinal sounds. The most unusual one I can remember
was an Adrian spelled Adrain. It would have been fine if pronounced
A-dray-in but as a result was known as A-drain! (The ironic part
was that he worked in a plumbing related company!)
