| I think they both sound great. I don't have my good babyname book
- loaned it out to my office mate who's due before me - gotta get
it back soon too...
Anyway, I think they are fairly popular names right now, but not
too common.
Like I said, I think they are great names with the last name. Can't
see any problems with them, like nicknames or anything.

I really like both names. Just be prepared that both Ryan and Megan
are both VERY popular right now and there will be lots of other
kids with the same name as your child's. (But that's just because
they're such nice names, right?) By the way, Ryan--which is a family
name for us--is our daughter's middle name.
I've seen Megan listed as a variation of Margaret. I don't remember
what Margaret means, but I think it's somewhere else in Babynames.

James Colin sounds nice. We have friends who were undecided between
James Colin or James Connor for their son. However, in their case,
they're using his middle name (J. Connor Donoghue) and decided on
Connor because Colin was too close to their daughter's name (Cailin).
I would love to have a book on Irish first names. Do you have the
publisher's information on that book? Maybe I can send away for
it.
