Anyone ever been to a shareholder meeting? I never have and I'm thinking of going to one next week. I'm a shareholder of IPLSA, IPL Systems, HQ'd in Maynard MA. they are makers of storage arrays (big ones!) for IBM systems as well as a host of other platforms (including NT). since they (IPLSA) is local, i thought i would go and attend just to see what it is all about. it is a small company, so, i do not expect a huge turnout. would i be wise to wear a Tie/jacket or would a nice pair of jeans and a button-down shirt be ok? i have no clue and i'm not keen on dressing up! thanks for any advice. jc

| I went to the Geerlings & Wade annual meeting last week. It was held on
the 36th floor of One International Place in downtown Boston and most of
the shareholders were wearing suits. As a DEC engineer, however, I felt
perfectly comfortable in my Dilbert outfit of dress shirt, curled-up tie,
and no jacket.
I did have the forethought to bring my L.L.Bean coat with the big pockets,
the better to carry home two complimentary bottles of wine (1 Cabernet
Sauvignon and 1 Chardonnay).

Don't forget to subtract the FMV of those bottles from your cost basis for the shares you owned at the time when you end up selling :-) | |||||

| The company is trying to impress the shareholders, not vice versa. Having said that, I probably wouldn't go to a shareholders' meeting in a t-shirt and jeans. Wes | |||||
