939.0. "Searching for Value Oriented Market Sectors" by DPDMAI::KNOWLES (Randy dtn-483-4231) Fri Nov 10 1995 08:56
I like to look for stocks that are in a sector that is out of favor and
do some "Bottom Fishing". I am from Texas where I feel that Oil stocks
fit in that category. I was reading in Harts Oil and Gas Investor
where 18 top analysts chose their top choices for the coming year. Some
    of their choices were:
Price in June 95 Current Price Projected

    	XCL Ltd.(XCL) .75 .50 2.88
    	WRT Energy(WRTE) 5.50 1.50 16.00
    	Benton Oil & Gas(BNTN) 13.56 11.00 20.50
    	Oryx Energy(ORX) 14.33 12.00 21.50

Would oil stocks be a place for the Value stock picker that goes
against the crowd mentality, because they are down and if any kind of
crisis arises, we could see a shortage of Oil. How does someone look
for out of favor Value Stocks?

    Thanks
