Would someone please post a 'standard' commission rate schedule? I
realize it's all deregulated but when an ad from a discount broker says
    they'll save you 70% - it's 70% compared to what? Thanks.

| I don't think there is such thing as standard commissions. However,
when a discount broker claims to save you money they are comparing with
full commission brokers. The one I use "Kennedy Cabbot & Co." here
in Los Angeles Charges: (for any stock at any price:)

    1 - 99 (odd lots) $20 + $3 (handling fee)
    100 - 999 $30 "
    1000 - 2000 $0.03/shr (minimum $30)
    Over 2000 $0.02/shr
