| 231.1 | RasterOps | YNGSTR::BROWN |  | Mon Jun 29 1992 13:12 | 5 |
| | I follow RasterOps; they just got beat down to below 10 from 12-14ish
    on a worse than expected earnings projection. They make Apple and
    workstation graphics stuff. Actually I like Radius (same market,
    sort of) at 10 a little better. Both are small under 300 employee
    shops with good revenue growth. .02kb

| 231.2 | buy ROPS! | SCAACT::MANN |  | Mon Jun 29 1992 13:35 | 8 |
| | I have followed RAsterops for sometime now. It looks very attractive
    at 10 with $3 in cash and solid earnings, .24-.26 expected this
    quarter. Robertson Stephens analyst lowered the projects for
    this quarter from .33 to .26 which is more in line with the avg. DFJ
    has a buy recommendation on it.

    if you buy ROPS now, you will be bucking the trend. ROPS is trending
    down faster than DEC stock... this might be a good call for a
    reversal, particularly if the market picks up here, but the label
    "falling sword" surely applies here. I had shorted ROPS a while back
    and have been kicking myself for buying it back too early.

| 231.4 | invest based on fundamentals | SCAACT::MANN |  | Mon Jun 29 1992 14:44 | 7 |
| | 90% of the time when I make money is because I am bucking the trend e.g
    early 1991 I bought Informix for 3.25 and later on in 1991 sold at
    9.25. Two weeks ago Informix was at 35. Obviously, I sold too
    early. I like companies that have good fundamentals and wait for
    the crowd to catch up.

    what is it about ROPS's fundamental stats that look good to you?

| 231.6 | ROPS fundamentals | SCAACT::MANN |  | Tue Jun 30 1992 10:41 | 12 |
|  |     Cash - 16 Million (5.5 mil. shares outstanding)
    No debt
    revenue growth 15-20%
    earnings June 92 qtr. .25
    FY 93 earnings expected around .95-1.05
    Revenue FY 92, 80 million compared to current market value 55 million

    This is cheap for $10/shr, if you compare to other similar
    high tech. growth companies.

| | My brother is a software engineer for Interphase. They make all types
    of high-speed controller boards for Sun, Tandem, et al.

    A small company with 200 or so employees, their stock price can be
    fairly volatile.

    I'll do my best to get more info from my brother and post it here.
