189.0. ""Pinch 15" Fantasy Stock Market Contest..." by ROYALT::LEMIRE (Mutually Inclusive...) Fri May 08 1992 11:31
I was just skimming through the Business Day section of the NYT and
noticed a full page ad for the "Pinch 15" Fantasy Stock Market Contest. This
is a telephone based trading contest sponsored by Pinch Scotch where you can
invest up to $100,000 in up to 15 companies selected from a list of 98. You can
trade as often as you wish, but only in 100 share blocks. Winners are selected
every 2 weeks (a crystal trophy and $1000) and there is a grand prize at the end
of the contest of a trip for 2 to Scotland.
I was scanning the list trying to decide which companies to pick when I
noticed that the contest is only open to residents of New York, New Jersey and
Connecticut. Are any of this conferences' readers participating in this
contest? How is it going?
I have seen similar contests posted in the AVIC notesfile (not recently)
and thought it sounded like a lot of fun. You get to play Wall Street like the
"Big Boys" without risking any "real" money.
	So, is anyone doing this?
