For the 2400 FH products I would like to know if we are a Win95
version of the tool RL2SETUP or an equivalent.
Proxim seems to have this kind of tool for their new 2400 FH
products (RANGELAN2 7400).
Thanks,
Thierry.

Hi Thierry,
Currently these tools do not exist for the FH and we are currently
working on a schedule and commitment with our partner on this.
I have been testing a utility for the DS that I hope we can start
shipping by the end of February (hope to get it on the internal WWW by
mid February.

Jeff,
Ok you work for the FH with PROXIM to have their WIN95 tool but if you
want to use the RL2SETUP tool :
(1) with WIN95 in a DOS window it don't works.
(2) with the standard DOS it don't works.
In the first case you have some conflict :
- I think this is a problem with the network...
The second case you have the same thing :
- the drivers (PCMCIA...) aren't loaded.
Do you have tested this tool in WIN95 or do you have some ideas
to resolve this problem.
Thanks,
Thierry.

| 328.3 | RL2SETUP will run on most PCs in DOS Mode (NOT DOS Window). | IROCZ::SCHWARTZ | Thu Jan 30 1997 16:52 | 19 | |
Thierry,
Yes, the current RL2SETUP will NOT work under Windows 95 and NT
operating systems.
If you boot in 'Command Prompt Only' this utility should work. It will
depend upon whether your PC has an Intel 82365 compatable controller.
It does work with DIGITAL's PCs. Since the DIGITAL PC controller is
not 100% compatible, we recommend running the utility CIRRUS.COM, that
ships with the drivers. This will setup one of the bits to make it
look more Intel compatible. I have run the RL2SETUP with and without
CIRRUS loaded without a problem.
If the PC has a PCMCIA controller that is not at all Intel compatable,
you will need to load Card & Socket Services before the utility can be
run.
Regards,
Jeff
