    My son has informed me that he heard last week while listening to the 
    radio that STTNG would be effectively cancelled at the end of the next
    series year. Has anyone heard this? It took me some time to wean myself
    away from the original series until I really appreciated the new
    series. So I'm very interested if anyone can confirm or deny the
    alleged demise of STTNG.

	Yup. A recent issue of TV Guide confirmed this. It was a decision by Paramount. After completing the 1993-94 season they'll be hitting the big screen. I hadn't realized they had been around for 8 years already.

	of course there are also rumors floating around in the conference that there will be an 8th season...

	Re -.1 rumours squashed paramount will have this coming season of TNG along with DSN. Then in the 94 - 95 season they will start a new series to replace TNG along with DS9 continuing. Jeff Peters
