A friend asked me whether Rodger McBride had written a sequel to _Ring of Charon_. I had no answer but thought I might ask here. So did he and if so what was the title? Thanks in advance, .wIx.

| I haven't seen one, although "The Ring of Charon" leaves it wide
open. That's no spoiler; the subtitle of the novel is "First
Book of the Hunted Earth". RoC came out in 1990, and I've seen
at least one other book by him since, "The Modular Man".
RoC was pretty good, once you got past the cheesecake Boris cover.
It had an interesting alternate form of intelligence -
pattern-matching on images. Campbell once asked his writers to
give him aliens who thought differently than people, and better
than people. Allen came up with one approach here.

PS His name is Roger MacBride Allen, not Roger McBride.

| Thanks for the PS in the last note - he constantly gets his name
misspelled which doesn't impress him at all! At the last Ad Astra
they listed him under M and used the Mc instead of Mac...he laughed but
    wasn't really amused

    Tell me about it...

From one who has both halves of their last name constantly misspelled.
