I was in a cycle shop this weekend looking for a "CRV harness"(?)
to be able to secure a child behind me on my bike. The dealer didn't
seem to know much about it, or where to order them for me.
I ride with a Shriners Drill Team and Parade Unit in Massachussetts,
and every year we have an outing or two for the kids from the Boston
Burn Unit. We all bring our own bikes, mostly touring bikes, all makes,
and would like to find a better way to secure the kids, to the bikes.
Can someone give me a pointer to a catalog or dealer that has orderable
CRV harness's ? Hope I'm using the right term. Most bikes are
"dressers", Goldwings and Ultra Classics mix.

I have one of these and have had great results with it. It
is also suitable for snowmobiling, horseback riding etc. I
bought mine from CRV Sales and Marketing in Alberta Canada
for a little over $100 about 5 years ago. They took plastic
over the phone and shipped promptly.
To get the latest # try 1-403-555-1212, Alberta directory
assistance. I think they were based in Edmonton or Calgary
at the time (1992).
I tried the WEB but was not successful. Hope this helps.

| I had a bike and rode my boy around for years with no problems...
The secret? I rigged a sissy bar with a pushbutton release seat belt
attached to the upright rails by wrapping them around once and clamping
them down down with a pair of screws and a clamping bar the width of
the belt.
It always functioned perfectly and the kid was so relaxed and secure
that he fell asleep often but never fell off. I would also recommend
some shields to keep her dangling feet away from getting entangled
in the rear wheel if that's a potential hazard, (I think not on a
Wing).
Anyway, the belt can easily be stored out of sight in the trunk or
sissy bar pouch (if you have one), or neatly wrapped around back and
buckled and tuck just the "tail" into the trunk or pouch.
