Hi fellow hackers, Has anybody hacked or seen a program that will convert EBCIDIC packed decimals to the equivelant under VMS? Tapecopy and MTEXCH, two programs in DECUS are only character xfers. Also, is there a notes file for DECUS utilities? the IDECUS on in summit doesn't work. Thanks.

I don't think there is a difference between ASCII and EBCDIC packed decimal. The VAX packed decimal format was designed to be compatible with IBM. In fact, it causes us alot of pain. If you have a real problem, can you explain it more? KC | |||||
