I'm having trouble installing a Etherworks Turbo PCMCIA
card into a new HiNote VP. It doesn't seem to find the
driver. When I use plug the card in and use the floppy supplied, it
appears to work but when it reboots there is an error on the device
indicating that it did not install the driver correctly.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, We found the fix for that over here in OGO. It was a nightmare
to say the least. Anyway here is the fix.
Have the DEPCM-BA (version 4.0 or higher) driver floppy available.
Insert the card into the laptop and proceed through the prompts.
After the system fails to locate the driver, close any remaining
dialog boxes.
Go to Control Panel
|
|__ System
|_
|Device Manager
|_
| Network Adapters and find the DEPCM-XX card there.
It will most likely have a yellow ! in front of it.
Select the DEPCM then Properties
|
|_Driver
|_
| Update.
|_
|Select "No,
|_
select driver from list"
then NEXT
|
|_Network Adapter
|
|_
NEXT
|
|_ Have Disk. At this point the dialog box should have
"Digital EtherWORKS PCMCIA TURBO Adapter high-lighted.
Click OK and the driver should now install.
You will be prompted for the location of the WIN95 kit, so have that
available either on the C: drive or on CD.
