Which chip from dec is the de435 if it is the dc21x4 type will the
driver from the digital semiconductor page work on it.If so why does
the network web site still have interim kit 2.41 when there are newer
drivers on the semiconductor page.

de435 uses 21041, and does work with dc21x4 drivers.
As for why the drivers on the interim kit are old ...
they work. It is not an effective use of time to update
drivers for this adapter when what is there works. The
later dc21x4 drivers add support for other controllers
(21041, 21140, 22140A, 21142, 21143). Feel free to use
the newer drivers.
That said, later this week there will be a new interim kit
for de43x, driven by the availability of new SCO drivers.
If I am very lucky, this would be the last interim kit for
this product (I'm not usually that lucky).
