If it's done well, I (gulp) wouldn't mind at all.
It's just that I think the odds of it being done well are slim...
Perhaps they could use some "virtual Shatner" SFX stand-in? :-)

and have a lot of fun being the villain of the movie.

| ... or he could just return as Kirk. By one count Picard already returned
from death 3 times and Worf once. They have a line something about a main
computer memory error due to bombardment by tycon mumble or other and presto,
Kirk walks out of the transporter.
