    I have talked to alot of Arab Breeders w/ No luck at all.

   Unfortunately, for the most part, Arab and TB breeders mix like 
   oil and water. Many Arab breeders think that TBs are useless, and 
   vice versa. Don't get discouraged, Louisa, there *are* some out 
   there, you just have to dig a little deeper. I think you will find 
   that the search will be worth it, though. I know there is an 
   Anglo-Arab breeder in Virginia, but his horses are pretty expensive. 
   Rather than talking to Arab breeders, I'd ask dressage and jumper
   trainers who are not glued to Warmbloods.
    

  Another thought, Louisa, is that the Arabian Sport Horse Association
  may be able to help you. They are in Virginia, but have members all
  over the US.

    Dr. John Aldred, Haymarket Virginia raises them.  He has been breeding 
    them for 20 or 30 or 40 years.  Phone is 703-754-8666.  I think this is 
    to whom Kiirja was referring.  His horses are not cheap but are of 
    excellent quality and disposition.  My mare E.C. is from his farm.  
    And she is wonderful in every way. 
    
    I know that he currently has a couple of NICE ones.  He has a really 
    nice 5-year old (16 to 16.1), seal brown, gorgeous head, good
    conformation, and great mover.  And priced for the Virginia market.  
    If our company wasn't so questionable, I would own him right now. 
    
    He also has a couple older ones. 
    
    There is also a breed in Alberta.  I will look up her address.  And
    there is a breeder (or was) in Pennsylvania. 
    
    The International Arabian Horse Association in Denver might have a 
    listing of Anglo breeders.  Number is 303-450-4774.  Or they could 
    put you in touch with the Anglo Arabian Committee chairman.

    I called the numbers in the pervious replys and the folks on the other
    end were very helpful and full of great information.  I have even
    joined a few more clubs.  
    
    But, there are NO Anglo-Arabs left in the Mass, CT, RI, NH, VT area
    There are a few folks listed w/ the clubs who happen to own 1 Anglo
    but they do not breed them or sell them or know where I can buy one.
    
    There are a few in NY but that is just to far for me to travel.
    
    The clubs told me that the hot thing to do now is to breed the Arabs
    w/ warm-bloods or American Saddle Breeds.  The Arab Sport Horse Assoc
    did not like the idea of American Saddle Breeds being bread to the
    Arab's.. they made that very clear to me on the phone.
    
    It was a gallant effort on all our parts, again thank you.  I guess we
    will not own a Anglo...back to the drawing board.

    Well, there's one other alternative.  It would take more time and 
    the results wouldn't be known up front.  But it could be infinitely
    more rewarding.  Lease a Thoroughbred mare, and breed her to an
    Arabian stallion.  Or vice versa.  
    
    I'm not surprised the Sport Horse folks didn't jump on the
    Arab/Saddlebred cross...it's not a product like what they're aiming
    for.  But the National Show Horse (which is what that cross is) is
    a wonderful athlete!

    Actually there are a bunch of Arab/Saddlebred crosses out there that 
    didn't turn out to be exactly what they were bred for as 'gaited' types
    of horses and that would perform pretty much as an Anglo.  I owned
    a couple like that and they were/are wonderful sport horses.  One was 
    a full brother to several nationally ranked park horses.  And he 
    could have been an English Pleasure horse.  But he had that long, 
    sweepy trot that won him Class A Hunter under saddle classes and 
    a jump that made a Class A champion AOTR hunter, and then on to be a
    AOTR Jumper.  I also evented him and competed very well in dressage
    (he usually scored in the high 60's). He is now a wonderful field hunter.
    
    (In fact, a few years ago the horse that one the Denver Stock Show 
    Open Jumper champion was a Arab/Saddlebred cross).

    I agree with the previous noter...the Arab/Saddlebred Cross doesn't
    always produce the high trot that a lot of the breeders are looking
    for.  If you decide to go that route, let me know.

    The ANGLO breeder in Alberta is MJ farms.  I know them quite well. 
    They actually have one or two already shipped in the MA. area. 
    Actually I have one, and he is a doll but for sale as I don't have the
    time he requires.  The prices here are cheaper - 'cause I know what
    they can be sold for in the US.  If you want any information - just let
    me know - they are reputable (as any) and while being a bit odd are
    reasonable people.
