| | Well, I *rent* the tractor and owner!

I have a young man who brings his tractor over whenever I
    need large tractor work done.

| | Lynne's right. That's probably the cheapest and most effective way to
get tractor work done. Hire somebody to do the job!

My old 9N Ford doesn't have a bucket and doesn't have a post hole
attachement. So, I have on occassion rented a little "Bobcat"
tractor/bucket loader and a power auger/post hole digger. It's expensive
and I was slow because I wasn't experienced using the machine.

The power post hole digger was the worst. It took three strong men and
a boy to use it! And it took us 2 days to dig post holes for a half
acre paddock. The next time I needed post holes dug, I called a guy
that had a tractor mounted post hole digger. He charged $50 to dig all
the 150+ post holes we needed for a 2 acre pasture. All I had to do was
use lime to mark where I wanted the holes! And he was done in a little
over an hour and a half!

| | hi Donna-

You might want to consider hiring someone from your own town. Moving
equipment is expensive. Ask around at the feed store or call a
landscaper. Most should have contacts or the equipment to do what
    you probably need done.

I'm pretty lucky when it comes to a back hoe. The guy I get lives about
2 miles down the road from me. He charges $30 per hour and comes up my house any
time just for 1 hour ! He doesn't charge delivery since he can drive the back hoe
to my house. I live in Lunenburg and he lives in Shirley. McNiff real estate is
the name. They are into allot of different stuff. $10.50 per yard for loam also !
