| | I would talk to a reproductive veterinarian. Dr. Cindy Brown at
Rochester Equine Clinic is one. The condition you refer to has
been explained to me as malignant tumors. I had a gray arab mare
once that had them and was told they are very common in whites,
grays and very light colored horses. It is the same thing as skin
cancer in humans. Your mare may not have malinoma. Sometimes they
can be removed. These are all questions that you should ask a vet
that could do something to help you if you wish to breed.

    Good luck,

| | No her ones are not cancerous, but its very unfortunate that
they can't be removed as they take up such a wide area underneath
the skin. She used to have approx 3 underneath the saddle and to
my amazment they went! Shes fifteen now, and they haven't (touch
    wood) inteffered with her movements...

Thanks for the info, have you the address of Dr Cindy Brown
maybe I could write to her?

| | Jayne,

Has your mare ever had any foals before? I have a maiden mare the
same age as yours and my vet did not recommend breeding her even
though her cycles are normal. He felt it would be too hard on her
to start now. If the mare has foaled before, did she have the skin
growths then? Have you asked your vet about this?

    Sandy
