I've seen the coat sold at the United Co-Op Farmers feedstore in
Littleton on Route 119. I don't remember how much they were selling
them for. I'm not sure if they still sell them, but you can give
them a call and find out where they got them. I think the Saddle
Shed in Grafton, MA has them also.

	Hi,
Can anyone recommend a full-length waterproof stockman's type
coat suitable for wearing in summer temperatures? It's done
nothing but rain this summer here in the UK, and Barbours
aren't designed for comfortable riding in 22c...
	Jonathan.

| 624.5 | Aigle makes a plastic riding mac. | SMAUG::GUNN | I couldn't possibly comment | Thu Jul 18 1991 15:06 | 22 |
| | Aigle, the French Rubber Riding Boot Manufacturers, make a ventilated
plastic riding macintosh, which when folded up is small enough to fit
in a saddle bag/sandwich case. I bought one of these in a tack shop in
Munich on one of my DEC trips but presume that they are available in
the U.K. Therefore I can ride out with this mac in my saddle bag and if
put it on if it rains. It covers all of me (and I am tall), my saddle
and a good part of my horse. It has leg straps and a gusset (?) at the
back which can open out to cover my horse's rump. It also has an
integral hood. It has enough vents in it to leave you somewhat less
damp on the inside from sweating than on the outside from the rain.

I also have an Australian Drizabone stockman's coat bought in Australia
on another trip. It is heavier, doesn't include a hood and doesn't fold
up compactly but otherwise is the same size as the Aigle plastic mac.
It doesn't leave me any less sweaty than the Aigle mac. In summer time
I prefer the Aigle since you can wear/not wear it as the rain comes and
goes while out riding. The Drizabone I prefer for cooler rainy weather.
The other advantage of the Aigle is that I can take it with me on my
many trips and it doesn't take up much space in my luggage. I sloshed
around cross country day at the Blenheim International Horse Trials
last October wearing it and it kept me quite dry. Lugging the Drizabone
back home from Australia, via Japan and the U.K. was challenge enough!

Well guess what... Aigle's importers here in the UK only
import their riding boots at the moment, and aren't
interested in getting any of their range of clothing.
I don't suppose any kind soul on the continent would know
of a shop that does their full range and see if they have
any of these lightweight full-length riding macs in stock?
	Jonathan.

I still have the catalogue from the tack shop in Munich where I found
the Aigle riding macintosh. However none of the Aigle boots or clothing
are shown in it. As of 1989 there were three branches of this shop in
Germany in Munich, Nuremberg and Regensberg, as follows:
    	Steigbgel Zitzler GMBH
    		Kardinal Dopfner Strasse 4
    		8000 Mnchen 2
    			Telefon: 0 89/28 10 68
    		Knauerstrasse 11
    		8500 Nurnberg 70
    			Telefon: 09 11/26 70 86
    		Holzgartenstrasse 3
    		8400 Regensberg_Reinhausen
    			Telefon: 09 1/4 29 79
For those visiting Munich, the shop there is near the Odeonsplatz
in the centre of Munich. Odeonsplatz is one station north of
Marienplatz on the U-Bahn (Underground/Subway) lines U3 and U6. Those
in the shop did not speak much English.
