537.0. "Riding in Hungary" by TALLIS::MJOHNSON () Fri Mar 25 1988 12:39

I've reprinted the following advertisement off a flier (given to me by
Jonathan Ball). From what I understand, these training sessions are 5 weeks
long and students are guaranteed to ride 2-3 horses under instruction
daily. I had heard a rumor that DEC was one of the companies sponsoring this
program (?) Has anyone heard anything about it? -Melinda

InSight Marketing Group, Inc., a Chesterfield, New Hampshire-based marketing
firm, is planning an extensive equestrian program in the county of Hungary
in July and August of 1988. This new program will offer instructors,
trainers, and students of horsemanship the opportunity to not only learn
Eastern European Equestrian riding, training, and care, but will enable them
to learn a new culture in another country as well.

On hand as a director, and at the request of the Hungarian government,
will be Zoltan Iby from Hungary, who has extensive knowledge in the Eastern
Europe Equestrian field with a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in
Animal Husbandry. He is president of the Prize Jumping Committee, an
affiliate of the International Riding Committee, and a teacher/engineer in
Agricultural Sciences. Mr. Iby will be in the U.S. for a short pre-program
stay to further develop his English speaking skills.

Four Hungarian horse farms will be offerred this year with lodging
facilities available on-site to enable the student to get the full effect of
the program and to benefit from the rich culture that Hungary and its people
provide.

After the program's trial year offered to the first 40 students, InSight
plans to affiliate with area colleges and establish it as an accredited
course, providing several sessions a year to college students.
