2183.0. "getting dns clerk error messages" by DYOSW5::WILDER (Does virtual reality get swapped?) Wed May 28 1997 09:00
Ever since I installed the latest version of DECnet on my UNIX V4.0b
system, I keep getting console messages that state:

"dnsclerk[7356]: Unable to open dns clerk event file. Error: No such
    file or directory"

Now, not being a DECnet person by any stretch of the imagination, how
do I fix this error message?

    When I installed V4.0b, I did a rolling upgrade from V4.0. I
de-installed the old DECnet, did the rolling upgrade to V4.0b, and then
re-installed the new version of DECnet.

    What is happening???

    Thanks,

    /jim

| | You can ignore the message. It's basically a debug msg that
shouldn't be being logged. There is a patched dnsclerk at
netrix::patches/OSF/V4.0A/dnsclerk.Z that I believe has this
    msg eliminated. -- Vince
