| | If you can go 45 minutes north the Nashua, New Hampshire, there are two very
good mountain biking shops. FYI, New Hampshire does not have a sales tax, so
you will save on big purchases.
Goodales Bike & Ski is a very large shop at 46 Main Street in Downtown Nashua.
They carry Trek, Specialized, Gary Fischer, Giant, Mongoose, GT, Dyno, and
Haro, plus an incredible amount of parts and accessories. Then there is Tony's
Cyclery at 433 Amherst Street that carries Schwinn, Cannondale, Mongoose,
Bianchi, and Klein. Let me know if you need directions.
The other option you have is to mailorder the parts you need and have them
delivered to someone you know in the Maynard area. When you arrive, you can
just pick them up and take them back to Italy. If your trip is soon, you
may want to have them sent "UPS Second Day Air". It costs about 50% more
than regular UPS, but get them across country in two days.

| | Ditto the mail order suggestion. There are several mail order places
that can be accessed via the internet and they all have 800 numbers.
Prices are much better than local shops especially for forks. Other
components such as brakes and shifters you can also save a bundle. I
can recommend Bike World, Budget Racer, and Bike Pro as sources with
decent prices. The Rock Shock Judy XC is going for $299.00 or less
mail order versus almost $400.00 in the shops, including Goodale's.
Actually, someone in here is selling a 1996 Judy XC with a 1 1/8
threadless steerer for a great price. He may still have it.

| | Actually 800- numbers do not work outside the U.S. and possibly Canada. if
you call one of us in the US on DTN, we can place the call for you.

| | I was suggesting he call when he gets here, from within the U.S. If we
had a list of items, it would be easy to do some comparison shopping
    before hand. Just a suggestion.

| | O'Neil's in Worcester has the Judy XC for $299.00? That's pretty good
considering that's the current popular mailorder price. I got mine at
Bikeworld for $277.00, 1996 model with aluminum cartridge. I believe
they have since raised their price to $299.00.

Other sources are Budget Racer and Bike World. I have orderd shocks
from both of them with satisfactory results.

Bike Nashbar has the XT-V brake for $44.00 in their catalog, front or
rear, no levers. I have seen the XTR-V brake advertised for $50.00.

| | Here are some prices I found on the net. I used Nashbar as a barometer
as I have a catalog handy. I tried the O'Neil's website but it is
under construction and much of the info is not available. If they are
close to the other mail order places, this might be a good find as they
are local to me, sort of.
