Well, after giving it some serious thought and having my son come down
to take a look at them on Friday night I bought the Diamond Back Ascent.

I was incorrect in saying these had C10's on the bike it actually came
with A10's all around. Also, sealed bearings so maintenance should be
less. I got a nice helmet for half-price and he threw in the waterbottle
	and cage.

| | With an attack of Spring fever and 'tax return' fever my wife and
I are thinking of making a purchase or 2 or 3 or...
Here are the 'requirements';
- Our main activity is road riding (training for the Pan-Mass Challenge)
- We are interested in getting a couple of bikes for this time of year. Spring,
alot of sand, rough roads etc.
- Family camping trips. Riding with my kids around the campground. unpaved rodes
   etc.
- On a rare occasion, might join a friend for an 'off-road' experience.
I've visited Franklin bicycle and Landry's (Westboro) and have zero'd in on
the Specialized Hardrock Sport or Ultra as a 'catagory.' Prices ($319 & $359
respectfully) seem ok FOR THE INTENDED / EXPECTED use. Landry's also had a
Swchinn High Plains.
Anyone have an opinion :-) in this catagory ?
I've even talked her into keeping an open mind towards a tandem, but that might
be a whole nuther note ;-)
Another purchase in mind is a new bike for my son. He is only 7, but is out
riding his little 16 wheel single speed. I'm considering buying a 20 wheeled,
5 speed. I seen Specialized and Schwinn. He's a small 7year old and I hope
will stay with the 20" for at least 3 years.
Any input would be helpfull. (I hope!)
	Thanks in advance, Tim
