| | An ABSOLUTE MUST is the 1989 Tour De France - Particularly the final
    TT with LeMond destroying Fignon... I can play that over, and over,
    and over, and over...

| 2271.3 | maybe Stars & Water Carriers?? | KAOFS::W_VIERHOUT | Central Canada Support | Thu May 07 1992 12:20 | 13 |
| | I just viewed the tape were Bauer comes second in the 1990 (I think)
    Paris Roubaix and I would not recommend buying it. It drags through the
    last 40 minuetes with live real time coverage and commentating by Phil
    L. Not much really happens other than Fignon gets abused and Bauer
    comes a close second.
      As for tapes to buy I really cant remember any others I have seen. I
    have heard Stars and Water Carriers is good.

| 2271.4 | Stars & Water Carriers definitely!!!!! | SMURF::DUPUIS |  | Thu May 07 1992 12:58 | 19 |

    Stars & Water Carriers (1972? Giro) is exceptional. If you've never
    seen Eddy Mercykx race (an wondered why they called him the cannibal)
    this one is a must.

    A Sunday in Hell (1974? Paris Roubaix) is another very good video that
    showcases some of the sports legends.

    Of the more recently produced videos I agree the 1989 Tour is good.

    All of these are available from Famous Cycling Videos (they produced
    the recent (>1985) videos and distribute the others. There ads appear
    in most of the bicycling magazines; including Winning, VeloNews and
    Bicycling.

    Enjoy the videos, get inspired then go ride.

| 2271.5 | anyone want to buy a video? | RUSTIE::NALE | Sue Nale Mildrum | Mon May 11 1992 14:26 | 8 |
| | Hi again. Well I've decided on 2 videos from Famous Cycling Videos:
"A Sunday in Hell" (Paris-Roubaix 1976), and the 1989 TDF. FCV takes $7 off
each video IF you order 3 or more. If anyone is interested in ordering a video
maybe we could combine our order and both save $. If you'd be interested, send
mail to RUSTIE::NALE and I can tell you the titles and prices. BTW, I'm in
Nashua, NH so if you're "across the pond" it probably wouldn't work. %^)

| 2271.6 | 1989 Worlds | RANGER::RJOHNSON |  | Fri May 15 1992 12:54 | 9 |
| | My favorite is the 1989 World Championship. There is a retrospective
    on Lemond and great race coverage. My favorite part is on the last
    climb when Fignon attacks and gets a big gap. Then Lemond counter
    attacks...there is a great call "Lemond has flown accross the gap
    ...I don't think Fignon knows he is there yet...He knows now!...This
    is Fignon's worst nightmare come to life!". Fantastic sprint finish
    too.
