      Lets see,

      The wife got me a new pair of hot pink tights.
      and I also got a new frame pump for the mountain bike,
      and I also got a blackburn Bench stand for those all to frequent
      bike tear downs and rebuilds.

      I have a good wife!
      (now if she would just learn to ride at more than 5 MPH)

       	A Blackburn Sportstand. A much needed addition to the home shop.
	A long sleeve high-tech warm jersey from Performance (Rasberry)
	And I bought myself a Tommasso "Greg Lemond" Bright Yellow jersey
	with a splash of orange and red color on it. $30 at Landrys

    After last year Pan-Mass Challenge I wished for a set of clip-on aero
    bars.

    Santa came through with a set of Profile clip-ons.
    But now I'll have to splurge and get the aero-brakes while I'm
    re-wrapping the handle bar.

    Wouldn't want to waste an opportunity like that.

| | I didn't get any bike toys for Christmas.

    For years my S.O. "santa" has promised NEVER to buy me anything even
    remotely related to cycling, since "you spend too much money on
    cycling anyway". She always lives up to her promise - no bike toys.

    I did what any bikeaholic would do ... spoiled her with many gifts on
    Christmas, and on the day after Christmas went to the shop & bought for
    myself: Kreitler Rollers, Kreitler Killer Headwind Unit, Kreitler Fork
    Mount, TIME Racing Magnesium pedals, and Time Criterium shoes. It's
    much tougher for her to say "you spend too much money ..." when I've
    given HER such nice gifts!!

    The things we do for toys ...

| | Well, my Santas did give me some nice stuff this year including silk
    underwear (no more excuses about the cold...) and a GIRO Hammerhead
    helmet (Santa said that if he sees me wearing my Pro-Tec anymore, he
    will take it off my head and crush it...)

| | I followed Mr. Reid's motus opernde (sp?). Although we said we
    wouldn't go crazy on Christmas this year, I spoiled myself....

     * C RECORD seat post

     * C RECORD front derailleur

     * Scott Drop-Ins

     * Modolo  X-Tenos stem

     * C RECORD crankset

     Oh well, I deserved it!! I have ordered these so they will "dribble"
    in instead of getting one box full of goodies and have to fess up all
    at once...

| 1811.7 | Lightning Tailwind Micro | ULTRA::WITTENBERG | Uphill, Into the Wind | Mon Jan 07 1991 13:38 | 17 |
|  |     With my  wife's  indulgence,  I  just  ordered  a Lightning cycles
    Tailwind Micro frame. It's a long wheelbase, low handlebars
    recumbent with a ZZipper fairing. The Micro refers to the wheel
    size- both wheels are 20", so I had to go to relatively big
    chainrings and a 12-28 freewheel to gear it. The advantage of the
    smaller rear wheel is that it makes the bike lighter and shorter.
    I'm having it built up with Sealed bearing hubs and either a
    sealed bearing or a grease guard bottom bracket (possibly Phil
    Woods for both), and Suntour XC-?? derailuers, a cantilever rear
    brake and a side-pull front. Also the tourist/commuter
    accessories-- a neat quick release rear rack, fenders, and brazed
    on mounts for my Brite Lite lights.
    It's a lot of fun to specify a custom frame.
