The same thig happens to my old Cateye Solar computer.  It got so bad that I 
replaced with a Cateye Micro, which I like much better.  I was thinking about 
soldering on a small piece of wire (or just solder) to build up the contact 
area since it seems that something has worn to the point that contact can be 
broken.

    	I had this problem with my Vetta, but my cateye was ok.   For
    me the problem seems to be that the Vetta kind of slides into place
    but it doesn't 'click' into place.   The cateye has a notch that
    seems to hold the speedometer in place better.
    
    	I found I couldn't use the Vetta on my mountain bike, since
    the mount is loose enough that the speedometer falls off!  I almost
    lost it one time.    When it slides only a little, the electrical
    contact is lost, but then it's only a little ways from falling off
    the bike.

I've got the Vetta C2, the model that includes cadence and elapsed time. 
It does have a notch, so at least there's no risk of its falling off. 
I've been thinking about ways to make the contact more positive - I
mentioned EKG gel in .0, and now I'm thinking about electronic ground
braid.  Who knows...?

    	I've experienced the very same problem. However, after some
    	"analysis" of the situation, I found my problem was due to
    	the battery! I took the unit off the bike and whacked it
    	around slightly, to simulate a bumpy ride, and the display
    	would vanish, but when I pressed on the battery cover, the
    	display reappeared. I haven't fixed it yet, though. I don't
    	have plan yet, but I might try to shim the battery with a
    	conductive material, to make it a tighter fit. Or maybe I'll
    	try some of that electrical conductive goo.

    Might also be the wrong battery. Many of those suckers are
    interchangeable but small differences in size will result in more
    free-play with some. 
    
    You may be able to find one that fits a little tighter, even if the one
    you have is suppossed to be correct. Try an electronic store with a
    chart on hand that lists exact battery sizes (or try Zayres - last
    time I was there they had one lying around the watch-battery area
    of the store).

sequence for setting the wheel diameter.

    and hold a few seconds till you get the flashing display.  Use right
    button to get to the digits.  Use left button to change them.
