| | I used to LIVE in St. Paul, before I opted for the hustle,
bustle, terrible driving, but GOOD JOBs in Massachusetts.

    	(1) Weather: Great! By late August the temperature will have
cooled down from the present 80's-90's, so it will be
    	    quite pleasant.

    	(2) Rental: In Minneapolis (I assume that's where the convention
is) there are several good bike shops along Hennepin (NORTH
Hennepin, I believe) Avenue. The one that comes to mind
most profoundly is FREEWHEEL BIKE SHOP. There are also some
closer to the chain of lakes (examples: Lake Hennepin, Lake
Calhoun) where the best in-city riding happens.

    	(3) Routes: Minneapolis isn't known as the "City of Lakes" for
nuthin'. There is a string of lakes and parks that is
wonderful, and makes Boston's Fenway district look silly!

| | I moved to Colorado Springs from St. Paul last November after
having lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota my whole life.
The weather in August can range anywhere from pleasant to
unbearable both in temperature and humidity. Hope you go there
    during a good week.
As for recommended routes, the previous reply hit it right
on the head - go for the lakes. The Twin Cities are unbelievably
nice in that respect - within minutes from wherever you might be
there are beautiful lakes with well lit, wide paths designed for
    bicycle riding around them.
Let us know how your trip goes,
    	     				Eric

| | Well, I guess I'm the only one left here. Yes there are places to
ride in Mpls/St. Paul. The "LAKES" are nice for "putzing" , looking
and slow riding. If you want other types give me a call at DTN
