I have a major sweat-in-my-eyes problem on hot days or when
I'm pushing (trying to go fast). The salt level builds to a degree
that I can't keep my eyes open, they hurt so much. I have to squirt
my eyes with a water bottle to rinse them so's I can see. Sweat
bands help a lot, but after a while, they get saturated.
    	I've finally found a 90% solution (I think that on a 90 deg
killer day, I'd overwhelm it). There's a company in Florida that
markets "RaceAide" sweat bands. They are soft plastic/rubber gizmos
with internal channels that act like a rain gutter, channeling the
sweat to the region over your ears.
I tried them (you get a set of 3 for some small $ amount) and
THEY WORK! They will be part of my standard cycling gear in the
    future.
If you have salty-sweat-in-the-eyes problems, give them a try.

I've had the same problem, especially when wearing a helmet
    {Awww, lets not go into that again ?}

Anyway, I used to use sweat bands, as they became saturated
I'd just put a finger in the edge and run it around my head three
or four times, this had the effect of getting the wettest part at
the back, by the time the front was wet the back was dry again.
Later I used a helmet {V1_Pro} and developed a knack of holding
my head out to the side and pressing on the front of the helmet
to squeeze the sponges out, I had to do this BEFORE saturation or
it would start to run into my eyes, then I'd have to stop, and putting
a cold wet sweaty helmet back on is 'orrrid. I've found that I
don't sweat anywhere near as much if I get in shape before the really
hot weather gets here {Well, I've done it a coupla years anyway}.
If I can get the sub 5 1/2 hour century done by the end of May and
do at least one hard/fast one every month from there on I'm a fairly
dry person, evaporation works better at ~30 - 33 KmPH averages too :-^)
