| The A setting is 5 degrees; the B setting is 30. I bet that
the B setting would be reasonable for BOTH of your freewheels.
A is for really close-ratio gears--13-21 or tighter.
By the way, could you share your experiences with Chorus? I'm
very interested in the components. At first glance, they seem
to be some of the best designed pieces I've seen. Do they seem
to be holding up? How does the derailleur action compare with
others you've used? What did it all cost?

| I'm completely happy with the Chorus group and after about 1000
miles they seem to be holding up fine. The seat post, pedals, and
hubs are nice. The brakes and crank set are awesome. The derailleur
is much better than what I had been using (Nuovo Record c.1974), but
I must say, I recently shifted a brand new Dura Ace system (7-speed)
and it was even better in my opinion. All of the Chorus components
are beautiful to look at (my wife thinks I'm crazy about this) and
are cold forged so they're very strong.
Forget about Campy Synchro if you're really interested in indexed
shifting. I used it with the Chorus group for about two weeks but
it just wasn't that accurate when down shifting from certain gears.
The shifters allow you to turn off the index shifting and set it
to friction, but that mechanism sort of gets in the way when in
friction mode. So anyway, I returned the Synchro shifters and got
a pair of C-Record shifters at no extra charge from International
Bicycle in Brighton.
I'd be happy to try to answer any specific questions you may have
about Chorus.

| re .1 13 - 21 is "tight" ?
Maybe I'm missing something, but that's just all the odds or
something close, i.e. 13,14,15,17,19,21. How is that "tight" ?

| Ease up. From the perspective of somebody who has only 13-23 and
13-26 cogs, 13-21 would seem "tight." 13-21 happens to be the
widest ratio gears I own, and what I guess would be the limit
of what you should use with a 5 degree setting on the Chorus.

| 13-21 is also tighter if you admit to having 7 cogs. I'm
currently using a 13-20 and its pretty damn tight,
13-14-15-16-17-18-20.

| I spoke with Guy at International Bicycle and he read me the Campagnolo
spec's over the phone. According to Campy, the 'A' setting on Chorus
is appropriate if the cluster range (large - small) is less than 12.
So my 13-23 would work best on the 'A' setting since the pulleys are
closest to the sprockets on 'A'.
I went home the other day and tried the 'B' setting. It didn't
seem as smooth when I tested it on my work stand. I'd still like
to test it on the road if it ever stops raining.

I will be purchasing the Chorus Group soon and the freewheel
that I am interested in is the Regina America 7 sp. What chain
do you other Chorus users find best. The Regina CX-S supposedly
is the choice for 7speed Campy derailleurs, what do you use???

| I use a SEDISPORT narrow chain. It seems to work fine with my Chorus
group.

| I have a seven speed setup with a Record C crank and rear derailleur.
The Regina CX-S chain caused me problems of the chain falling off
the front chainring when the chain is in the lowest gear. Campy
chainrings are very beefy, and the CX-S chain is inflexible, as a
result the chain kept falling off. I called the Campy hotline and
they said they use Sedisports on their own bikes. I changed to the
sedisport and it works fine.

| What is the Campy hotline? I am trying to find a Chorus crankset
in a "small" size. 165 or 167.5. I believe that Campy makes this,
but it is not sold in the U.S. maybe this hotline could help me
locate one.
